We usually spend the 4th with friends since we live so far from family. A quiet barbque and then a few fireworks. It's pretty tame around here ... nothing like when I was a kid. I grew up in Colorado and the annual 4th of July fireworks turned out the entire town. Still does!
Australia Day is on the 26th on January - in the middle of our summer. ~ Moags (Laura)

Neat. Ours is in the middle of our summer too, so we celebrate with barbecues and fireworks. What are the traditions for Australia Day?
Our neighbors always throw a big BBQ bash. They have an awesome view out over the city and we all sit back and watch the fireworks from their patio. Best part is we can drink as much as we want and not have to worry about driving home--they are only 2 doors down.Yay USA!
Also I am a facebook friend and I "liked" this blog!

We usually go to a friend's party for the 4th. Being Canadian, I also like to celebrate Canada Day, which is July 1st. This year the embassy is having a party so I will go to that.
cnikita2(at)aol(dot) com
Usually have a bbq of some sort with family, and then we can typically see some sort of fireworks from somewhere just from the house. Like Darleen said it's all pretty tame.
We bbq with family, waiting impatiently for dark and a great block long fireworks show.

since I work for our local police dept. (24/7), it all depends on if it falls on my off day or not. If it doesn't then I have to share the off day with my co-workers (we rotate who gets it off). when I do get it off I usually spend the day with family, celebrating our freedoms.

Today's my 60th Birthday!!! and I feel great! I spend the 4th along the Charles River in Boston with Family and Friends. Fireworks and The Boston Pops!! What more do I need. Life is Good.
Hmmm I'm thinking we are the only people in the country who don't do anything! We used to have a family get together and bar-b-que and play badminton with our family - but the craziness of my family, and all the drama, means no one really talks anymore...so we don't get together anymore. Sad, huh?
Fireworks are banned where we live (this is just getting worse and worse lol) so I get the kids some sparklers and we do those.
As far as the entries go...

(There was no #2 this week. lol)
Thanks for the fun giveaway!! xx
We ride horses to the top of a butte just outside of town to watch the fireworks show that takes place at Snow King.
In Poland we are celebrating 11th November :)
mizuhanome (at) gmail.com
I'm also a facebook friend.
We always used to go with the crowds and watch the Boston Pops at Boston's Hatch Shell. Seeing the show with a quarter-million people was amazing, and I was always so proud to be an American. I'm still thrilled to be an American, but we can see the same fireworks from my backyard, but my wheelchair doesn't navigate the crowds as well. So we have a cookout in the backyard and celebrate as a family. In a lot of ways, it's even better than following the crowds. Kathy N-V
I'm working as My son and grandsons aren't close enough to visit. I figure I might as well let someone who has family closer enjoy the day. I follow you on twitter and Facebook!
The 4th of July celebrations are plentiful, parades, BBQ's, family and friends gathering to celebrate the holiday and summer fun. How lucky we are to wake up each morning, not only on the 4th, to freedom in the US. Since I have friends fighting the war, and not home here in the US, I think of them, and how lucky we are to have them serving our country. Let's all take a moment to think of them on the 4th, and each morning.

Usually, we have a family gathering with way too much food and lots of fun! Playing yard games if it is nice out and parlor games if it rains makes for a long, but enjoyable day. It is relaxing to get back to beading the next day! Happy 4th to everyone and this year, make it a point to celebrate our freedom!!
We celebrate Canada Day on the 1st of July, with fireworks and celebrations.
So we're a scant couple of days ahead of you -- but our love of country is the same as yours!
We usually spend the 4th of July at home with our friends who are neighbors. We don't like to drive on Holidays because, unfortunately, there are too many drinkers on the roads! Plus being at home gives me more time to use SoftFlex products!
We hang out in the pool all day while slow roasting BBQ ribs on the grill. After dinner we move on to the nearest fireworks display, sit back & enjoy.
We have friends who own a cottage at Little Neck---In Ipswich--we kayak and swim-eat some great food and go out to watch three different towns fireworks from Little Neck's great location!
We spend the 4th usually dodging the rain. I live in Seattle and thus our summer does not begin until July 5th :) The area we live in does not allow fireworks, so no shooting off anything for us, but the town is still small enough where we walk up to city hall and watch the fireworks from the top of the hill.
I also follow on twitter @mnsorensen
My dad and I usually stay home and
have a dinner together. None of my friends have a party and my brothers go down the shore every
weekend and do not invite us.
So we usually go to the parade in the am, and then go home.
I will be driving home.
HI! This is the first time I have been on your blog, and I like it very much. I have used your products for a some time now.
When I was growing up, we had a mutual bbq with friends of the family, and all their neighbors, at the friend's house. They had a combined huge back yard and we would have a show with everyone's fireworks. It was better that the professional ones the city had each year. It was amazing to a little kid.
I just moved, so I don't know what I will do this year.
Happy 4th everyone!!
For about the last 13 years or so we have a good old fashion BBQ with a bunch of friends. Then we watch fireworks. They are set off close to their house so it is very awsome. Then we go back to their house for dessert. Thats my job. Usually a very large tray of cookies and rootbeer floats.
Since I'm a 911 emergency dispatcher I will spend the day at work, working hard to keep everyone safe. So...remember, don't drink & drive and buckle up!
This year, my husband and I have decided to host a 4th of July party on the 5th of July. I have already pulled out beads and findings for the young ones (and parents!) to make patriotic pins. Although we have a small home, we've invited a crowd...we'll bbq ribs and hotdogs on the grill with all of the fixings and sides...what better way to celebrate Independence Day than with friends?
Aloha, Rhonda
I spend my 4th in the house protecting my pug (Smudge) from the big bad noises.
We'll probably spend the 4th at home enjoying the reason for the Holiday. Probably have friends over to watch fireworks on tv so we don't have to worry about traveling with celebrators that shouldn't be on the road. Happy 4th of July!
On 7/3 I'll have a booth selling my handcrafted jewelry at our town's annual Stars + Stripes Festival in the park.
Then on 7/4, I'll just be relaxing quietly at home with my honey, soaking in the a/c and munching on corn on the cob, veggie burgers on the (indoor) grill and strawberry shortcake.
We'll probably watch a concert on TV and turn in early. We rarely go to the fireworks anymore. Guess we're really getting old! haha
Go into town and watch the parade then home for a barbaque. After dark we go to the fireworks.
I enjoy the fireworks on the 4th (or 3rd or 2nd, etc) The intensity of both the show and the music stirs the emotions. Standing (or sitting) in a crown of diverse Americans reminds me of the importance of the "melting pot" in what made America so special.
If I were in Maine, I would also attend the "Great Kennebec (River) Whatever Race" in the afternoon.
I love the 4th! It is a couple of days away from my birthday so I always have a loooong celebration!! I can use this time to do what I love: Make jewelery...I am a blog follower..I am the one with the Dalmatians, hence the name dal girl..I have three wonderful dals that I love very much! Good Luck with your new house!
We spend the 4th of July here at home with the family. Usually doing sparklers and fireworks and having a big BBQ! It's my favorite holiday! I'm now following the blog, and on Twitter and Facebook and I "Liked" the blog entry! Can't wait for this year's 4th of July celebration!
Fourth of July is usually pretty quiet at our house. We don't BBQ often but usually do on the 4th. In the evening we scan the skies for local fireworks! mirador(at)comcast.net

It depends.... For my family it is a big scallop weekend in Florida. They love to snorkle for scallops. That isn't my thing (I BEAD)but since they get togethor I usually join in the fun for a couple days and just stay on dry land.

We also just bbq for the 3 of us. Then in the evening, we go watch fireworks and listen to corny country music!
I usually spend the 4th inside, because we live only 1 block from our city parks, where they shoot off a wonderful fireworks display, but I have a 75 pound lab-heeler mix dog who is terrified of the blasts that go off. He begins to pant and tries to find the deepest, darkest place he can find in our little apartment to get away from them. I watch some of TV at times though. I hope everyone else has a wonderful time, though!
I love thiss holiday because I am a very patriotic person. We usually have a bar-b-que and then enjoy fireworks. My favorite thing is to listen to the Boston Pops on TV and watch the fireworks and music from up there in the evening. Have a Happy Fpurth and God Bless our troops whever they are serving.
I will undoubtedly spend the 4th like I do every other day of the year: making jewelry!
We usually have a picnic and then watch our local fireworks.
I will post the winner as a comment on Monday. Then, I will email the winner directly to get their address. That's why it is so important that you either leave your email address in your comment or email it to me Sara@SoftFlexCompany.com.
We usually spend it at home watching the Boston Pops and we used to watch the town fireworks, but they cancelled them.
we invite family and friends over for a barbque then watch the fireworks.
I generally work all holidays. Extra pay.

We enjoy a cookout of tasty treats while oohing and ahhing over our latest jewelry creations and we finish the day watching fireworks!

I will actually be stuck at home with my dogs. They are rescues that the noise of the fireworks scare them to death.

My family spends the 4th together. Usually someone grills and we all bring a dish. And we spend the day talking and eating!
We usually look for fireworks that can be seen from where we happen to be. That might be on the deck of a boat in a marina, our living room window or back deck or even from an airplane. All are spectacular.
We usually try to bring my parents over for "burned hot dogs" and sides. "Burned hot dogs" is an old family tradition. I don't know if we'll be able to do it this year since they are both in a nursing home and slipping away.
I'm a FaceBook friend.
I start celebrating on July 1st (my birthday) and continue through the 4th. My family and I get together a few times to visit, eat and enjoy each others company. We reflect on how great our lives are here in the USA.
Love your beading wire! Hope to collect all of the colors some day!

Parade, car shows, Taste of Edmond, Picnics, and Oklahoma's best fireworks show!
It really depends what kind of a day July 4th is! If it's on one of my friend's days off, I'd go over and bead in the afternoon, and then have a BBQ. If it's not on one of her days off, I try to find somewhere with free wi-fi so I can look for a job and enter online giveaways :-) I only have dial-up at home, so no point staying there if I can find faster internet elsewhere.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I enjoy your blog!
Love the giveaways!
On the 4th my family will spend time at the lake.
We have at times taken a boat to
to see wonderful displays of fireworks.
I also give a pause to the wonderful freedoms that we have in the USA. I am grateful to the armed forces who protect our freedom.
We always spend the 4th with family having a BBQ and then we go watch the fireworks! It is one of my favorite holidays!
sweepyhead at gmail dot com
I coach softball in my city and we always have our allstar games as part of the community festivities on the fourth.
Valerie is our big winner this week! Have you seen her blog? http://valerieaharoni.com/
I hope that you all have a really nice holiday weekend this coming weekend.
Don't forget, we're only half way done. There will be 4 more giveaways over the next 4 weekends. This coming Saturday is "Trick or Treat" for Halloween.
We spend the fourth of July with family. We set around talking and catchup on what everyone is doing or has done basically have a good time being with each other.
I don't do anything. I like the quiet day to work on my artwork or just be lazy. No driving so I can stay away from all the drunks and crazy tourists.
