Free DIY Beaded Necklace Idea by Jamie Hogsett

This Pretty Peacock Necklace uses Kazuri beads from Antelope Beads, a peacock bead from Lumina Inspirations, Czech glass rondelles from Raven's Journey, melon beads, head pin and swirl clasp from Vintaj, and wire and crimp findings from Soft Flex, of course.

I used three colors of .019 wire, Peridot, Fluorite and Antique Brass, to link the beads together in the front of the necklace and braided together without beads in the back of the necklace. If you zoom in on the picture, you'll see that every other Czech glass rondelle is used as a link, with two of the wire colors connected to it. If I was just stringing these beads, I would've used silver rounds as spacers, so by using 3mm crimp covers over all the 2mm crimp tubes, it gives a similar look. The different directions of the rondelles and the subtle hints of color added by the wire, give an extra boost of texture and color to this pretty necklace.

  2. Thank you Therese! My mom got the peacock bead for me awhile ago, so I'm happy it's found a home in this design.
