How To Use A Crimp Cover To Hide Your Crimp

9:00 AM

Using a crimp cover is super easy and gives a design a professional looking finish! Here is a quick run down on how crimp covers work!

First, check out this awesome flower clasp! You can get this sterling silver clasp on our website. There are two clasps per package.

Using a Soft Flex crimp tube with crimp pliers makes for a nice finish too, but if you want to go the extra mile, add a crimp cover.

Did you know that we have our famous crimp tubes and crimp covers in silver filled, sterling silver, gold filled and copper? In this case, I am using a 2x2mm crimp tube with a 3mm crimp cover. If I used a 3x3mm crimp tube, I would choose a 4mm crimp cover.

Tah-dah! It looks good, right? Some jewelry designers like to use the rounder on their crimping pliers to close a crimp cover. I prefer my chain nose pliers. I also like to tuck the two sides of the crimp cover together so that it doesn't slide around or slide off the crimp tube.

I cannot express enough the importance of good quality materials. Our crimps have a thicker, stronger wall as compared to others on the market. Our 3mm crimp covers have a nice wide opening so that they can actually fit onto the crimp tube.
